next time it happens right-click on the desktop and click “refresh”. This should bring up your icons. If you get the message icon, assuming you are using Outlook, you prob have “unread” items in your junk folder… this will sometimes happen so just right click and select “mark all as read”.
Upon starup. When the desktop loads. Click Ctrl-Alt-Del and select task manager. On the applications tab select new task. Then type explorer.exe and hit enter or select ok. That will fix it. If not pop in your XP disk. Roboot pressing F8 and select safe mode. From the command prompt type SFC/Scannow that will repair the missing explorer file.
cheers
Go to Start – Run – type msconfig
Go to the startup tab and uncheck some of the junk
that starts up when the computer is botting.
Program that you dont need to run when the machine starts
like messengers, hp printer stuff, any junky software that you can start on your own just uncheck them. Then apply, restart the comp and see if that helps.
Try this it may work:
ALT+CTRL+DELETE
processes tab and then end explorer.exe
then back to applications tab and click new task and write explorer and then u will have ur icons
